American Heart Association Announces Chairs for 2012 Lancaster Heart Ball
Lancaster, PA – The American Heart Association is pleased to announce that Jennifer DeBerdine Goldbach and Michael DeBerdine will serve as co-chairs of the 2012 Lancaster Heart Ball. The 2012 Lancaster Heart Ball will be held on February 4, 2012 at the Lancaster Country Club.
Jennifer DeBerdine Goldbach is Vice President of Business Development at Benchmark Construction. She previously spent 24 years in the banking industry. Active in the community, Goldbach serves as board development chair for the Cecil College Foundation, board chair for Share of Lancaster, and serves as auction chair for the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Luncheon. She also serves on committees for LancasterHistory.org, Long Home/Presbyterian Senior Living, Lancaster Family YMCA, Rotary International, and the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce. She was formerly chair of the American Heart Association’s Lancaster Heart Walk. Goldbach is a graduate of Dickinson College and Solanco High School. She is a life-long resident of Lancaster County, where she resides with her husband, Tom, and son.
Michael DeBerdine, III, is CEO of the Jerome H. Rhoads Corporation, the Lancaster-based parent to a family of companies, including Rhoads Energy, that serve customers in Central Pennsylvania. DeBerdine started with the company in 1989 and became president of the company in 2000.
DeBerdine is an active volunteer. For the past 22 seasons, he has helped in several capacities of Challenger Little League, a program that enables children with disabilities to play baseball. DeBerdine also serves on the fundraising committee for ScoutReach, which enables underprivileged young men to participate in Boy Scouts. DeBerdine is a member of Lancaster-South Rotary, serves on the Civil Service Commission of Millersville, serves on the Executive Board of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Marketers Association and is Chair of Building Committee at Grace UMC in Millersville. DeBerdine has served on several committees with the Lancaster Chamber including the Executive Board and Board of Directors, and as Co-Chair of Member Services. For an avocation, he spends his fall weekends officiating college football at the D1A, DII and DIII level. A lifelong resident of the area, DeBerdine graduated from Solanco High School and Franklin & Marshall College. He resides in Lancaster County with his wife, Deb, and three children.
